Exquisite Corpse was a playful parlor game invented by the surrealists where a unique image is created by multiple artists on a single piece of paper. In turn, each artist would respond to the drawing of the previous artist, creating an unplanned and unexpected image. This exhibition and trunk show explores what happens when three like-minded jewelry artists come together, surrender control, and allow each other to modify each other's jewelry.
Erica Bello, Sarah Holden, and April Wood exhibit three one-of-a-kind collaborative works of art jewelry. In addition to 'Jeweled Corpses,' each artist presents a collection of limited production jewelry. Explore the ways in which each artists' design choices and impulses translate from their production pieces into unique works of art jewelry.
Jeweled Corpses will be on view at Heidi Lowe Gallery August 21 - September 2. A reception will be held Thursday, August 31 from 6 - 9 pm.
