Introduction to Wax Carving

Introduction to Wax Carving

350.00

Transforming wax into metal is an ancient metalsmithing technique still used by jewelers today.  This process allows for sculptural jewelry designs to be reproduced again and again!  In this introductory class, students will first make a ring from wax by removing, adding, and finishing the wax.  Students will also learn about the process of casting, and finally turn their silver ring from a rough casting to refined, finished product!

Wax Carving meets on Tuesday nights at Heidi Lowe Gallery from 6 - 9pm on the following dates: March 28, April 4, 11, and 18.  Aimee Petkus, a former intern and employee of Heidi's, will teach you everything you need to know!
